You can now find my work at Claire Elizabeth Gallery in the French Quarter. Claire not only runs her gallery, but Amy’s Art Cart.
“Amy's Art Cart is a mobile art cart to serve pediatric patients at Children's Hospital in New Orleans. Since 2014, Amy's Art Cart has collected over $40,000 to benefit the art cart program at Children's Hospital. These funds have been used to purchase a specially designed, hospital safe cart as well as stock the cart with art supplies, coloring books, craft sets, board games and even a mini library to bring joy and a creative outlet to hundreds of kids. It is our hope that each child can access the cart in order to escape some of the agony and monotony of being in the hospital and undergoing treatments.
Amy's Art Cart is dedicated in the name of Amy Palmer, a local artist and art teacher who lost her fight with Multiple Sclerosis in 2012. Throughout her illness, creating works of art with her nurses, aides, and visitors gave Amy the strength and courage to fight her illness. It is the hope that "Amy's Art Cart" inspires children to use their own creativity and imagination to help heal their wounds and give them the strength to fight back.’
